Cameras
Recent pictures have been taken on a Nikon D200 Digital SLR. This makes 10-megapixel photographs resulting in a print size of 13 by 8.5 inches at 300 dots per inch.
Most pictures were taken in RAW mode and can be converted to high resolution images in a range of formats such as JPEG or TIFF. Alternatively, they can be supplied in their original RAW format allowing you to process them to suite your needs.
Some earlier pictures were taken at 5-megapixels using a well used and abused Nikon 5700 hybrid camera. Due to the slow performance of this camera very few pictures were taken in RAW format, a few were taken in "full" resolution TIFF format while most are only available as "high" resolution JPEGs giving a print size of 9 by 5 inches at 300 dots per inch. These pictures will have an ID that starts with "DSCN".
Lenses
Macro photographs of insects and butterflies were taken with the high quality Sigma EX f2.8 150mm macro. Most other pictures were taken using the Nikkor f3.5-4.5 18-70mm supplied with the D200 camera.
Accessories
These include a Benbo tripod and monopod, Cokin graduated ND filters, Hoya Pro-1 Digital Circular Polariser and Lastolite reflector.
Computing
Pictures were imported, managed and processed using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3. However, most pictures undergo very little post-processing apart from the adjustment of levels and some cropping.
